About Me

I am a literary historian with a special interest in nineteenth and twentieth century novel and its social and intellectual contexts. I was educated at the University of Belgrade (BA & MA in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory) and Yale University (MA, MPhil & PhD in Comparative Literature). Since receiving my doctorate, I have worked at several institutions in the US, UK, and Asia, including Hampshire College in Amherst and King’s College, Cambridge. I currently teach in the English Department at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. When I am not writing and teaching about books, there is a distinct possibility that I am translating one.
